What is the SPTF?

The SPTF is an association for piano technicians in Sweden. It's a non-profit organization, and was founded more than seventyfive years ago.

The ambition of the SPTF has been to work for a high standard of craftmanship and to enhance the customer's security and confidence in the profession by qualified authorisation of members. 

The SPTF also arranges training and educational courses, and awards scholarships to members.

In 1960 the SPTF joined the Europiano organization. Recent years have seen an intensified collaboration between the Nordic countries Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, and this has led to the instigation of the annual NordiskPianoträff (Nordic Piano Convention). To organize the various Nordic activities, the NPTA (Nordic Piano Technicians Association) was formed in 1996.
